No, it's not an April Fools joke, I'm growin' a baby...PLUMERIA!!! Haha...I was outside playing in my yard and I decided that my boring old stick of a Plumeria needs to do something interesting. I googled caring for my little tree and found that you can prune them to induce branching, as well as root the cutting for a new tree. So I figured I'd give it a shot. These are photos of the momma plant. Her cutting has to dry out
(according to my pediatrician) for a couple of days, possibly even a week before she can be planted as well.

I decided this was something I wanted to do from the day I brought home Momma. I've had her two and a half years and she's never given me flowers, just big beautiful leaves. So today not only did Momma get a haircut, but also fed. I'm thinkin' the lack of fertilizer over the years resulted in her refusal to produce flowers. Wish me luck. I'll keep you updated on momma and baby! ;-)
Lol, you should have a real baby soon :)
ReplyDeletewhen I saw the post on facebook I thought you were talking about a "scent" thing, not a real plumeria! :) I hope it grows beautifully!
LOL....I hope so too...but from what I understand, it's a SLOW process...and will take a month or three...so who knows...I'm hoping I didn't kill it by taking the clippers to it. ;-)
